Why I Created GiftHub
Birthdays are supposed to be fun, but for me, they always start with a series of questions. It usually begins with my wife asking, "What do you want for your birthday?" Then, before I know it, the same question rolls in from my mom, mother-in-law, siblings, grandparents, and even a few close friends. I'm grateful to have so many people who care about me, but it quickly becomes a hassle.
The Birthday Gift Dilemma
Coming Up with Ideas
First, I have to come up with several ideas in just a week—no easy task! Next, I need to track who's been told what to avoid repeats. If I slip up, I either end up with nothing because I couldn't think of anything on the spot, or I get multiple copies of the same gift. Awkward.

Worse yet, the whole situation feels uncomfortable when asking for things face-to-face. It’s an unnecessary stress for what should be a fun occasion.
That’s why I set out to create a better way—a website/app for gifting that eliminates these hassles and bring back the joy of giving (and receiving).

GiftHub was born out of my desire to make gift-giving (and receiving) smoother for everyone involved. If someone—say, my mom—wants to buy me something, she can just check my list. Once she chooses an item, she can reserve it so everyone else knows it’s spoken for. No need for awkward phone calls or text messages asking, "Did you already get him that?".
Keeping the Surprise
GiftHub even has a setting that lets you keep some of the mystery alive. I can choose not to be notified when a gift is reserved, and I won’t know who bought it for me, keeping the surprise intact when I open it.
